Andres Bonifacio was born on November 30, 1863 in Tutuban Tondo, Manila. He had 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Unlike other revolutionaries, Bonifacio wanted the Philippines to be totally free from Spanish rule. He formed a group dedicated to taking up arms against the Spaniards and was called Katipunan or K.K.K. (Kataastaasan Kagalang-galang na Katipunan nang manga Anak nang Bayan). On August 23, 1896, they tore up their cedulas and began the revolution to oust the Spanish occupation. But was not successful.

His power was challenged by Aguinaldo since he supported Magdiwang, the supposed to the Magdalo faction of Aguinaldo. He was killed on Nagpatong mountain at the age of 34 by death sentence and by the members of the group he formed.

He became a hero of the Philippines and was titled as The Great Plebeian.
