MSWEB NETWORK supports the EDSA 1 celebration and gives you a brief history of the Peaceful revolution for change.

On the 25th of February 2012 the Philippines will celebrate the People Power Revolution a special day where people look back to the change of government expressing their convictions against the tyranny of dictatorship avoiding fatality and bloodshed.

About 26 years ago when the Filipino people made history by making a stand.  The methods used amounted to a sustained campaign of civil resistance against regime violence and electoral fraud. This case of nonviolent revolution led to the departure of President Ferdinand Marcos and the restoration of the country’s democracy. It is also referred to as the Yellow Revolution due to the presence of yellow ribbons during the demonstrations.

This eventually led to the successful transfer of power from the dictatorship of Pres. Marcos to Mrs. Aquino, who enjoys tremendous support from people wanting change. This event in the history embodies the true Filipino spirit.
