It is alway a good idea to upgrade your WordPress installation to the latest build. But before every upgrade it is just as important that you backup your site.

Even if you use the automatic upgrader it is still a good idea to backup. This is where cpanel backup comes in handy.

Essential of a backup is priceless. Often times this is being disregarded only to realize that it s too late. Backup is important period!

Cpanel backup is an indispensable tool, we always recommend that you do a local backup where you will always have access to.

You can do your backup quite easily. Account backups can be performed using the cPanel backup via the backup icon inside cpanel. If your account is not too big in terms of disk usage, then you can perform a full account backup with just one click.

Cpanel Backup and Restore

If the account is too large for a full automatic backup, it is recommended that you backup the files and the database separately. Cpanel gives you this option.

Access your backup for safekeeping and restoration
A good backup is a backup that works and that you can access easily in a event that you want to perform a restoration. After you perform a full or partial backup, download your compressed file or tarball from your public_html folder to your computer by using your favorite FTP client. After that you can easily upload back the files to your hosting account and your website can easily be restored back.

You may also request MSWEB Network to perform an affordable full backup creation in cd or dvd of your whole website and hand delivered it to your doors steps.

As released by cPanel:

A memory corruption vulnerability exists in Exim versions 4.69 and older (CVE-2010-4344). Exim is the mail transfer agent used by cPanel & WHM. This update has been rated as Important by the cPanel Security team.

Description

A memory corruption vulnerability has been discovered in Exim. This vulnerability may lead to arbitrary code execution with the privileges of the user executing the Exim daemon. cPanel previously released RPMs that mitigated the severity of the vulnerability on December 9, 2010 (CVE-2010-4345). This notification is for the release of new RPMs which remove the remote memory corruption vulnerability in its entirety. The vulnerability relies upon “rejected_header” being enabled (default setting) in the log_selector configuration.

Solution

To resolve and work around the issue on Linux systems, cPanel has issued new Exim RPMs. Server Owners are strongly urged to upgrade to the following Exim RPM versions:

Systems configured to use Maildir: Exim 4.69-26

Systems configured to use mbox (deprecated): Exim 4.63-5

Exim RPMs will be distributed through cPanel’s package management system. All cPanel & WHM servers receiving updates automatically will receive the updated Exim RPM during normal update and maintenance operations (upcp). To begin an Exim update on cPanel systems immediately, run the following command as root:

/scripts/eximup

FreeBSD systems should be running Exim 4.72 by default, which is not affected by this issue.

for more info about this vulnerability please refer to the cPanel announcement here

Greetings guys,

We had a temporary setback earlier when the server Corregidor seems to be up but is not responding. We had to troubleshoot and dig deep in the hardware section to see what is the cause. We hadn’t had anytime to announce the issue.

Alas! We found out that it was a faulty NIC card and we had to shut it down immediately and replace with a brand new NIC card!

Now everything should be back to normal. We really apologize for any inconvenience this has caused but some things are unexpected so we just work as fast as we can.

Hope everything is all well
